We've all imagined being able to one day see the car we all lust over. So when Kris Singh took delivery of his Orange Koenigsegg Agera XS in the USA, everyone lost their S#!&. An Agera that was homologated by Koenigsegg had finally landed stateside. Being fortunate enough to live in Miami, it became a game of who could spot the Egg first. Many tried, fewer were successful; and that was until Kris promised it would be part of the 2017 Halloween Supercar Run hosted by Prestige Imports.
On the day of the Run, photographers, spotters, and everyone who wanted to see the Koenigsegg made their way to Prestige Imports. It was a very rainy day, almost breaking the hearts of drivers, spotters, and guests. However, the weather persisted, and there were rumors that at 3:30 PM, the Egg would be unveiled inside the Prestige Imports showroom. As 3:00PM hit people started to gather around the glass windows where the Egg was to be revealed. 20 minutes later, we started seeing movement from photographers that were there to cover the event. Finally at 3:30PM on the dot, Brett David's voice started sounding from the speakers as he made his way through the crowd. After reaching the front, he delivered a short speech, which culminated in the reveal of the "MegaCar (the car's official license plate)" that is the XS. Everyone immediately rushed to the windows to observe HyperCar royalty. I often say to my self that living in Miami has ruined me and made me desensitized to the rarity that exists in super cars, hyper cars and any and every interesting car that has been spotted in Miami; however, this Koenigsegg was something more than special. After all, we were inside a newly constructed showroom, with 2 McLaren P1's, 1 LaFerrari, and a Gulf 918 Weissach. The Egg was definitely in good company. Even better company when you realized that guests were combing over the holy trinity, and staring at the car on the throne: Kris Singh's newest prized possession, his very loud, very orange, very MEGA, Koenigsegg Agera XS.
Now on to the Egg. WOW. WOW. WOW. First off, the color. Pictures do not do it justice. You have to see it in person; it is one of the best looking cars on the road. I commend Kris for choosing such a bold color, other than black or similarly dark colors that everyone seems to choose these days. Orange must have been a gamble, but WOW did it pay off. With real flecks of gold and diamond in it, this is like no other paint you've seen. I would go as far as saying that it is the most beautiful and jaw dropping Egg I've seen to date. Then there is the Carbon, and there's a lot of it. Every panel that isn't orange is carbon, which is the best complementary look to the orange. Then you notice that level of detail that went into the car, every strand of carbon fiber weave lines up perfectly. every piece of the car has a purpose. The level of engineering can be seen from the outside, and that "form follows function" can be seen all over the car.
Then there is the sound. I am lucky enough to drive and hear a lot of different cars. But I have never heard a Koenigsegg, and WOW. It sounds powerful, refined, and savage all at the same time. You can tell the car has power just by the way the car idles. Then there is the crackles on the overrun. It's just a perfect blend of savagery and refinement all at the same time. You have to watch our video on the reveal and hear this car revving. I promise no matter how good it sounds on video, it sounds 1000% better in person. If you ever get the opportunity to see a Koenigsegg in person you absolute have to.
Kris, enjoy it in good health, and I know we will see this beast around the busy streets of Miami.
